I'm not sure about that. It will probably take a very long time to finish REGoth itself, but I guess it should be possible.
The current savegame-implementation uses a simple json-format, which could be easily converted to and from other formats, even .zen, if someone bothered to write a converter for that. It stores the whole world (except worldmesh), and thus would be a nice starting-point as JSON is simple to load and write.

I guess we'll have to see how the project goes. With ZenLib, anyone could write such a tool, without needing to understand the inner workings of Gothics file-formats, which should make the task a lot easier. One could even fork REGoth to make use of what is there already.

I'm just brainstorming a little here, though ;)

Also, I played just right before Gomez yesterday (end of 1st chapter), where I couldn't continue due to a problem with his dialogue-script.
But on the way, I solved several quests, even went into the old mine to get the list for Diego and created about 10 savegames.

We're getting there!

I've got some updates for you guys!

In the last couple of days, I managed to get font-rendering down, and with that, I was able to start rebuilding the menu-system. While I was at it, I did the status-bars as well:



Subtitle-boxes were improved as well. Though, I think in the original the text was brighter and everything was centered. Anyways, looks quite good!

That sounds really strange. Does logcat say something about the crash anywhere? Could be pretty hard to find, as logcat gets spammed with lots of messages by everything.

I'm using an android-loader by Pixellight, so maybe the message could contain that as name, rather than REGoth.

I may have accidentally  compiled the APK for API-Level 23, which is Android 6. I'll upload a version with the right minimum android version in the next couple of days or so then.

Hi everyone! I've finally come around to register here myself, so I can keep you guys updated on the progress as well, if you like. Also, thanks to everyone here sharing my work so far! I really appreciate it!

Sorry for posting in English, though, as I don't speak any polish. I hope that is okay. 

Mam pytanie: Skoro to jest całkiem nowy silnik to znaczy że nie jest powiązany z Gothiciem.
To gdy wyjdzie to będzie można stworzyć własną grę na tym silniku i ją np. sprzedać?

The Engine is licensed as GPL3, so you are allowed to modify and even sell it. However, if you distribute binaries, you will have to give access to the modified source-code (aka. your project must as well be OpenSource)!
If you really didn't want to do that, I'm sure we could get to an agreement.

This just makes sure, that everything done with REGoth can always be compiled for other systems and updated on the go, as opposed for binary-only releases.

I'll maybe implement some scripting-language, which can then be translated to bytecode in case people really don't want to share their code.

Zmieniam temat, udało to się komuś odpalić tego builda na Androida? Wymagania co do wersji systemu i OpenGL spełniam. Prawidłowość ścieżki do gry sprawdzałem kilka razy. Mimo to wywala zaraz po odpaleniu aplikacji.

May I ask what kind of device you have? REGoth currently only runs on ARM-devices, which could be a problem.
If you have developer-access to your device, the output of "logcat" would be helpful.

And while I'm at it, I guess it would help to have the log written to a file that everybody can access. Will be in the next release!

By the way some notes regarding the next update:
We'll be finally able to knock out or kill people and then steal their shit!
Also saving and loading has been implemented! (As json-textfiles)

Not a long way to go until you can play the game at least somewhat far with what we have.
